Spain is the world capital of padel. With over 20,000 courts and more than 4 million active players, nowhere on the planet lives and breathes the sport quite like it. And if you are looking for the perfect place to base a padel holiday, Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava sits at the top of the list.
This guide covers everything — when to go, what to expect from training and tournaments, how accommodation works, what skill level you need, and how to book. Whether you are a beginner picking up a racket for the first time or a competitive player chasing points, Lloret de Mar has a package for you.
Why Lloret de Mar for a Padel Holiday?
Lloret de Mar has been a European sun-holiday destination for decades. But in recent years it has quietly become one of the continent's most exciting padel destinations too. Here is why:
- Climate: 300+ days of sunshine per year. Courts are playable from March to November without interruption.
- Modern facilities: Brand-new outdoor and indoor courts equipped to competition standard.
- International community: Players arrive from the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Scandinavia every summer — you will find hitting partners easily.
- Location: 70 km north of Barcelona. Easy direct flights from most European capitals, then a 90-minute transfer.
- Value: Compared to premium destinations like Marbella or Madrid, Lloret offers high-quality coaching and facilities at significantly lower prices.

What Level Do You Need to Be?
This is the most common question from first-time visitors. The honest answer: any level is welcome.
Padel is uniquely forgiving for beginners. The smaller court, the walls, and the underarm serve make it far more accessible than tennis. Most people can enjoy a game within an hour of picking up a racket for the first time. Our coaches are trained to work with complete beginners through to tournament-level players, grouping participants by ability to keep sessions meaningful for everyone.
If you are worried about your level, bring a friend. Padel doubles is the default format and having a known partner removes the social anxiety of pairing up with strangers.
What Happens in a Typical Day?
Here is what a training camp day looks like on the Premium package:
- 09:00 – 12:00: Morning session — technical drills, serve and return patterns, net position work
- 12:00 – 16:00: Lunch break and free time — beach, old town, pool
- 16:00 – 18:00: Afternoon session — match play, tactical scenarios, competitive games
- 19:30 onwards: Dinner at the hotel with the group. Optional evenings in Lloret de Mar
This is a holiday as much as it is a training camp. Lloret's beaches, the surrounding Costa Brava villages, and the nightlife are all part of the experience.
Accommodation
All packages include accommodation in partner hotels within walking distance of the courts. Hotels are rated 3* to 4*, air-conditioned, and most include a pool. Breakfast is typically included. For groups of 8+, private villa rental can be arranged on request.
Getting There
The closest airport is Barcelona El Prat (BCN), with a transfer time of approximately 90 minutes by taxi or private transfer. Girona Airport (GRO) is 45 minutes away and served by Ryanair from multiple UK and European cities. We can arrange airport transfers as an add-on to any package.
When Is the Best Time to Go?
Courts are playable year-round, but the prime window for a padel holiday in Lloret de Mar is May through October. July and August are peak season — busiest and hottest. For pleasant temperatures and quieter facilities, May–June and September–October are ideal. International tournaments typically run in June and September.
